Without doubt one of the most amazing experiences of our lives, to have the privilege of interacting up close with these amazing creatures was emotional. Elephant Whispers clearly cares well for their animals, all who seemed calm, healthy and happy - in particular a highlight for us was watching the elephants enjoy water-play and dust-bathing together, where it was clear they felt free to be themselves and their individual characters shone out. Being able to touch the patient giant Tambo was truly breath-taking. I was a little sceptical about the option to ride elephants, as personally I don't feel this is necessary and for me a bit 'circus' so as adults we decided to walk behind the elephants (a beautiful experience in itself - they walk silently!) but our young daughters delighted in an opportunity to ride - the elephants were obviously happy and not distressed at all, the keepers care very much for their individual 'wards' and you can see the bond between each Guide and their elephant. The education provided by the guides to the audience was outstanding, we've learned so much about these amazing animals that we will never forget and are already sharing to everyone we know. Education to support future generations of elephants and wildlife is critical to their survival and whilst these animals are now captive (and many would not be alive if they'd not been taken in by Whispers) they have an important role in opening the eyes and experience of humans so that we can then effect the changes necessary to how we impact the world around us. The property and the care provided by the Whispers staff was outstanding, everyone was friendly, happy to chat and share their knowledge. We were really impressed by how patient everyone was and the amount of photos and videos they took on our behalf for our later enjoyment. The catering for lunch was exceptional, a real South African picnic in a beautiful setting. To anyone considering visiting Elephant Whispers, the investment is well worth it - go for the longest experience you can afford and absorb as much information as you can, it's such a rare opportunity. We also decided to go for annual adoption to sponsor an elephant at Whispers, which was not pushed on us - there's no sales pitch at all - in fact we had to ask about this option. - Ray

Don't miss this experience. The elephants are amazing intelligent animals. We loved every moment so much that we went twice. Mid-day and at sundown. To have a personal interaction with an elephant is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The staff and keepers have a wealth of knowledge and a love of elephants that shines through their training and communication. They are the elephant whisperers. Dit was n wonderlike ervaring! Ons het so baie geleer, die Olifante is so spesiaal!! Ek het nog altyd n groot liefde vir hulle! I am very concerned about animal welfare, and did a lot of research before booking this experience. Based on all the reviews on various sites, I am delighted that I did book it! I was very impressed with the elephants themselves, who did not in any way look anything but content, and who were treated beautifully and with respect by the staff. We live in the UK and I took my children to South Africa to see things that they couldn't see here - and boy did they learn a lot about elephants! It was a magical experience, and one that none of us will ever forget! The staff were wonderful too! Thank you for creating a once in a lifetime memory for us!! - Kayla
